Soleyne Joubert - Yoga & Me

Hello Soleyne, can you tell us about your career after ESCE ?

"After my business studies at ESCE, I went to Australia where I lived for 6 years. I worked in digital media at NewsCorp and I did a lot of yoga. It was a daydream but I was very driven by the desire to go further and not to fit into the lines.

Then fate put Charlie in my path and together we created Yoga & Me, a web management platform for yoga studios. 

The project was launched, we just had to put our heart and talent into it to make it grow.

Why did you decide to take on this project ?

This project is the meeting of all my passions: yoga, writing, creating a product and digital.

But Yoga & Me is above all the desire to do things differently, in a more ethical and human way.

What did ESCE bring to you in the construction of this professional project ?

During my studies, I chose to go abroad as much as possible for internships and exchanges. I learned English and Spanish, which I use in my daily work. But above all, I opened my mind to other ways of doing things, working and negotiating. This learning carries me forward on a daily basis. I have also created an international network of friends and contacts, the importance of which I now appreciate.

What advice would you give to ESCE Alumni ?

My advice would be not to try to settle down too soon after graduation in a career or a large group. Nobody wastes years travelling, exploring and taking risks. These years of research, missteps and explorations have allowed me to fine-tune a career based on my desires, dreams and strengths. When you're 20-something, it's still a bit difficult to know what you're good at. But once you've found your path, you have to go for it and not save yourself! And never think you're too young to start.
